Silver Salmon Fishing

Kenai River, Seward (Resurrection Bay)

August welcomes the Locals Favorite…  Two massive Silver Salmon Runs in August and September makes this fall season fishery on the Kenai Peninsula a popular time.  Whether fishing the Kenai, Kasilof, Seward or on a Remote Fly-Out expect acrobatic jumps and reel screaming runs.  These mint bright beauties are on average 10-20 pounds and when fishing is hot expect limits to come fast!! Using light action G-Loomis rods with Shimano reels, Silver Salmon fishing is simple and relaxing but the catching is fast and furious.

Alaska Silver Salmon Fishing

Kenai River Silvers… local favorite fishery because of the relaxing techniques and plentiful bounty.  Our method of fishing the Kenai and Kasilof  Rivers consists of anchoring the boats and either back bouncing salmon egg clusters or “plug” fishing.  At times we will also throw spinners in idle waters.  The take down or bite is the most exhilarating part of the battle, but remember not to set the hook to early.  These chrome beauties are know to leave anglers bait less and scratching their heads in disbelief.  Remember Pink Salmon on even year.  Expect millions of Pinks in the month of August.

Seward (Resurrection Bay)….  Everyone loves a double header, two fish on at one time but imagine the entire boat of 6 anglers with fish on at the same time.  This is not rare but a daily occurrence.  Mooching cut plug herring as bait our Saltwater Captains will put you on a huge school of Silver Salmon.  The fishery begins July 1st and also on the menu are… Huge Ling Cod, Black Sea Bass Rockfish, Yellow Eye Rockfish  (Red Snapper) and at times Halibut
